ComGraph 2003 
The 4th Asia-Pacific Digital Art & Computer Animation Competition 

Following the successful ComGraph 2000, 2001 & 2002, you are invited to participate in ComGraph 2003 – one of the most recognized events for regional digital art and computer animation, organized by ACM SIGGRAPH Singapore (http://singapore.siggraph.org). This event is open to everyone in the Asia-Pacific region. 

An expert panel will select a short list of entries which will be presented at the ComGraph booth in BroadcastAsia 2003 (http://www.broadcast-asia.com). 

There are three categories of entry: Computer Animation (Open), Computer Animation (Student) and Digital Art. An international panel of judges will select the top three from the short-listed works for the Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes in each category. Prize will also be awarded for special achievement in motion graphics / broadcast design.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Work submitted must be original and done after Jan 2002. Please complete the ComGraph 2003 Entry Form and submit your work to:

Short-listed entries will be notified on 15 May 2003.

2a. Computer Animation (Open / Student)
	           
. Contributors should provide work recorded on the highest quality PAL Betacam SP equipment available to them.  
. Credit pieces must not exceed seven seconds. 
. There is no prescribed length to an animation clip, but generally it should be kept below five minutes. 
. Do not send in MASTERS. First-generation recordings will be accepted.

2b. Digital Art

. Entries can be any digitally created single-frame images, except those taken directly from scanners or digital cameras. 
. Use the TIFF format for your image. 
. Entries must be submitted in soft copy, either on a floppy disk or CD. Please label the disk with your name and the title of the work. You may submit a hard copy print with the soft copy if you wish.
. Prefix your file name with your initials followed by an underscore, e.g. LYT_image.tif.

3. Description (please attach extra sheets)

A description of the work should accompany the entry, for both Computer Animation and Digital Art. Here are some points you should include in the description:

· What is the concept of the animation / digital art work?
· How was it created? On what hardware, software? Any special techniques used?
· Where and when was it shown before (if applicable)?
· Do you categorize your work into motion graphics / broadcast design?   Yes / No (delete where appropriate)

4. Authorization Statement

Permission to Use Entry: I grant non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide rights to ACM SIGGRAPH Singapore Chapter to present at ComGraph 2003 the above entry (the "materials"). In the event that the materials contain the work of other individuals or organizations, including any copyrighted musical compositions or excerpts thereof, I understand that it is my responsibility to secure any necessary permissions and/or licenses, and I will hold ACM SIGGRAPH Singapore Chapter and its affiliates harmless for any failure to do so. I have secured (or will secure prior to performance) small performing rights licenses for the public performance of any copyrighted musical composition. I grant ACM SIGGRAPH Singapore Chapter permission to use my entry, in their original forms and/or modified forms, for promotion and publicity, special video and/or printed publications and for web/internet publication.
