Responsibilities include coaching and guiding team of TDs, TD Trainees and TAs to determine the various design solutions for the project; assisting the CG Supervisor with researching, developing and implementing CG techniques; using rendering software in conjunction with workstation modeling packages and define mathematical models and optical surfaces of props, scenery and characters. Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Graphics or equivalent work experience. 6+ years production experience, including some feature film experience; one year minimum experience as a senior TD with leadership responsibilities including an ability to demonstrate strengths in most areas of TD responsibility (i.e. shaderwriting, shell scripting, geometry programming effects design, lighting, character set up, etc.); expert knowledge of various software applications; must have an extremely creative and critical eye for guiding the quality of the desired visual results; must be a skilled decision maker, problem solver and an exceptional communicator. Technical Director Trainees In this role reporting to the Lead TD, you will be responsible for basic apprentice-level tasks necessary in the design and creation of geometry, motion, and lighting for computer generated objects and scenes. Technical Assistants We have an immediate need for Technical Assistants to provide file back-up and retrieval support services for our computer graphics artists. Texture Painters Creates textures, colors, and organic and hard surface qualities needed for characters, creatures and objects used in 3D computer graphics environments.
