Is that all that is to it? Have you considered the possibility that perhaps the same work has much more market potential than you have imagined? Such as creating a game based on the film, publishing a comic book series based on the animation or game, producing a movie and a whole slew of merchandise based on the novel? Before you venture across to other platforms, have you appropriately addressed the issues of ownership with all the contributors of your work? How do you leverage on your bundle of rights to maximise returns? Should you sell or license, how do you divide the territories, where can you find the right agents or partners and what about the IP laws overseas? If you find yourself facing these issues and more, the Media Development Authority (MDA) and Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) invite you to the Media Clinic on IP Issues in Cross-Platform Exploitation.
