Subject: SSC Update 132: Part-time projects
Dear SSC members,

The DSO National Laboratories is urgently seeking part-time manpower for modeling and simulation work. The tasks include 3D modeling of objects in OpenFlight format, real-time graphical simulation of human body, real-time video streaming and compression, etc.

1. Model ships using Multigen-Paradigm Creator. Each model should have 3 LOD with several switch modes and textured. As the models will be used for real-time simulation, it has to be optimised with minimal number of polygons without compromising on its realism.

2. Develop a module that is able to perform video streaming. In multi-threaded mode, each process corresponds to a video channel (of 320x240). Each process will grab the relevant RGB pixel data from buffer and send out via TCP or UDP to another system at a rate of 6fps.

3. Develop a module to enable an entity to perform autonomous line-of-sight check and collision avoidance in the backend during run-time. That is, without the need to render the scene. The Scenegraph used is OpenFlight.

Remuneration:

A. If work on-site at the premises, the pay would be S$8 - S$10 per hour.

B. If work off-site at the candidate's premises, he will be paid between S$3000 - S$5000 upon delivery of the job done within a time-frame of 2-4 months.

Interested candidate could contact Tony via email tchongmi@yahoo.com.sg for negotiation.
