The Motion Graphics/Broadcast Design Chair, under the auspices
of ACM Siggraph Singapore Chapter will be a vibrant and powerful
source of knowledge for practitioners, producers, sound designers,
and media/design students. Our aim is to foster a close-knit
group of members who are continuously seeking to improve their
skills through the mutual sharing of ideas and techniques
in order to produce more compelling work and to advance the
standards of the local and regional industries.
Motion Graphics/Broadcast Design covers more than just the
creation of animated graphics. It involves the choice of music
and sound effects, the concept that drives the entire piece
of work, any typographical approach or spoken word used in
the work, the use of visual effects used to enhance the intended
message. Motion Graphics/Broadcast Design is arguably the
hottest topic in computer arts today. It is near impossible
to watch a video or film presentation today that doesn't utilize
the skills of a Motion Graphics/Broadcast Design practitioner.
We hope to attract not only practitioners but also producers,
editors, musicians, students and enthusiasts into our group.
Each one of them can benefit greatly from gaining a better
understanding of the talents required of and the tools and
techniques used by a Motion Graphics/Broadcast Design practitioner.
I have no doubt that they will all benefit greatly from the
activities that the Group will be organizing in the months
and years ahead.
No one is either too good or too much of a newbie to not gain
objectively from joining the Motion Graphics/Broadcast Designers
Group. The field of Motion Graphics/Broadcast Design is always
evolving with new trends, tools, and techniques and to look
into. We now cordially invite you to join us in our quest
to build a community of like-minded individuals whose sole
interest in joining the group is to improve on their current
knowledge and abilities and to advance the art and craft of
Motion Graphics/Broadcast Design.
